There is no such thing as a perfect family. That’s because there is no such thing as a perfect person. Things happen, life happens. Imperfection runs it’s course. The family unit is negatively impacted. I have to remind myself of these things when my family starts running my blood pressure up. When you get old enough to see and understand patterns of behavior in those closest to you, it becomes a little easier to deal with them and adjust your attitude and expectations in advance. Before I get on my high horse, I’m sure my family has to do the same thing when I come around.
I have added all these images of wolves because I see the family unit as a pack. There is a heirarchical structure within the pack. The pack has individuals that play a specific role in keeping the pack safe and strong no matter what obstacles they may face. They are disagreements and fights within the pack, but at the end of the day, the pack will stay united because a breakdown in the pack will make the struggle to survive way more difficult. My hope is that people, including myself, will find something in this blog to motivate them to be better members of their own pack.
